The safety and well-being of our athletes is our utmost priority. Our Safeguarding Lead presents at each Coaches Meeting to ensure that coaches are kept informed of the latest safeguarding guidance, expectations, and procedures. Please review the most recent safeguarding information shared by our Safeguarding Lead, Dr. Leila Holmyard at the Fall Coaches Meeting.
If you have any safeguarding concerns or questions, don't hesitate to get in touch with our Athletic Director, Will Moncrief, or Safeguarding Lead, Dr. Leila Holmyard.
Our Athletics Department works hand in hand with the Counseling Department to review team rosters and share vital information that helps us better support the well-being of our student-athletes. This may include supportive strategies, helpful context, and other pertinent information regarding a student’s social, emotional, or overall well-being.
When a student-athlete on your team requires additional care or support, you will be notified by the appropriate parties and provided with the information needed to best support that student within your role as a coach.
If you have a behavioral, social, or emotional concern about an athlete, please reach out to our Athletic Director, Will Moncrief, who can connect you with the student’s counselor and help guide next steps.
Supporting our student-athletes is a team effort. Our goal is to work together to ensure every athlete feels supported, understood, and able to thrive.
Great coaching goes beyond the game—it builds connection, confidence, and resilience.
Nothing Heals Like Sport gives coaches practical, brain-based strategies to build stronger relationships, support self-regulation, understand challenging behaviors, and create team environments where athletes feel safe, seen, and supported.
